About this road trip bingo set

Road trip bingo is the classic back-seat game, so this list is built entirely from things you can see or do from a car: signs, stops, snacks and the view. It works on motorways and interstates, on a two-hour drive to the coast, or on a full day across a state. Because the squares are observational rather than knowledge-based, younger children can play properly against adults. Print one card per passenger before you leave and bring a pencil each — pens and car upholstery do not mix. Everything is generated offline in your browser, so you can make a batch at a service station if the first set is finished by lunchtime. Clip each card to a book or a tray table so it cannot slide down the side of the seat.

Who it suits

Families on long drives, road-tripping couples and group travellers.

Ways to play

  • Window bingo: cover squares as you spot them out of the window.
  • License-plate round for a longer drive.
  • Team version where one card represents the whole car.

Questions

Can children play alongside adults?

Yes. The squares are observational, so a five-year-old spots a road sign as easily as an adult does.

Does it work outside the US?

Yes. Both motorway and interstate wording is included, and you can localise it in the custom word box.

What should I print on?

Standard paper is fine, but card stock holds up better over a long journey.
