How the word lists are made
A printable generator is only as good as its vocabulary. Every theme on this site has its own list, written for that topic, and the build refuses to publish a theme that fails the checks below.
Sources
Lists are compiled from topic vocabulary used in classrooms and community settings: curriculum glossaries, museum and aquarium education packs, party and event checklists, and everyday language people actually use at these events. Each theme page states its source in plain language under the word list, so you can judge whether it fits your group. Where a list is aimed at a specific age range or region, the page says so.
What every published theme must pass
- At least 24 unique words, with duplicates inside a list rejected by the build.
- No more than 60% overlap with any other theme — the build compares every pair and fails on anything higher, which is what stops a theme being the same list under a new title.
- At least 120 words of original explanation covering who the theme suits and how to play it.
- A stated source, and an accurate description of the audience.
Publishing states
Themes move through draft, reviewed and published. Only published themes appear in the sitemap and in internal links; anything else is excluded from search entirely. There are currently 30 published themes.
What we do not publish
- Invented author biographies, credentials or expertise we do not have. No page on this site claims a teacher, editor or reviewer who does not exist.
- Official logos, protected artwork, or anything implying endorsement by a brand or league.
- Doorway pages — no near-duplicate pages generated per city, postcode or spelling variant.
- Filler text written to hit a word count. If a theme cannot be explained honestly, it stays in draft.
Corrections
If a word is wrong, a source is misdescribed, or a list does not fit the audience it claims, email winyeates@gmail.com. Corrections are applied to the theme data, the theme's date is updated, and the change goes out on the next deploy. Substantive corrections are noted on the theme page itself.
