About this math bingo set

Math bingo is most useful as a vocabulary check, so this list covers the terms pupils are asked to define rather than numbers to compute. That means the same set works across year groups: call the definition for older pupils, or show a quick sketch for younger ones. It is a good five-minute starter, a revision-before-test activity, or something to leave for a supply teacher. Because the generator runs in your browser, you can print a set on the photocopier machine without logging into anything, and each card in a batch is unique so neighbouring pupils cannot copy. Pair it with the word search version of the same list for a longer lesson. It also works as a five-minute plenary: no marking, and you immediately know who is unsure.

Who it suits

Upper primary and lower secondary maths teachers, tutors and homeschool parents.

Ways to play

  • Definition call: the teacher reads the definition and pupils find the term.
  • Answer call: teacher states an answer, pupils cover a term that could produce it.
  • Timed round where each correct definition earns one square.
